Good day everyone;
I hope this msg finds you in good health, in addition to being blessed. The Metro Detroit area Men’s Federation, I’m excited to say, made it’s prescence known at the campgrounds this past weekend of the 26th of June.
1. We participated in a Friday evening program with Family Life Directors Art & Kim Nowlin.
2. LRC Men’s Ministry & Men’s Federation led out in the Sabbath School hour.
3. We were blessed in the spirit at our LRC Men’s Ministry meeting, where plans & outlines were drawn up and distributed by Pastor P.C. Willis, to Men and Men’s Ministry Leaders.
4. Immediatly following the meeting, the Men’s Federation leaders were whisked into a live radio interview with the Nowlins to discuss future plans for our organization(s).
5. The Metro Detroit area Men’s Federation began it first outreach youth ministry where we approach youth and in their own setting, shared the good news of Christ’s ministry and how it relates to them in their current life situation.
With future plans for Men’s Ministry to participate in LRC Family Life programs, Youth Federations, a trip to Africa, a Men’s Ministry cruise, the CFL, and Operation Reach Back in addition to other plans being drawn up, we currently face the question “WHY DOSEN’T THE LRC MEN’S MINISTRY DEPT. HAVE A BUDGET FOR THE YEAR 2008???” From what I”m seeing Men’s Ministry is the Fastest growing Ministry in the LRC. and yet it is restricted by neglegence of funds.
The question of “WHY” stay’s in my thoughts.
- Maybe this Ministry is not important to the decision makers…
- … but then most of the decision makers on those committees are Men and benefit from this Ministry as well.
- Maybe there isn’t enough money to go around…
- … but other departments enjoy large budgets while others are starved of their resources.
- Maybe the decision makers don’t think it is a viable Ministry all together and needs to be cut…
- … but tell that to the single mother who we* hear from every Sabbath “When is your next program, When is the Rites of passage program starting, My son needs something more than Basketball, When are your other mentoring programs starting?
We are getting the attn of the Men in our churches and in our community, how can we instill in them to send an offering of tithes to a conference who will not support them in Ministry on their level? This is not a letter to lead a revolution, with-hold tithe dollars, or direct anger to the LRC; but rather show them the importance of a Ministry geared twds strengthening Men so that the work can be finished with whole complete Men as Heads of their households, Heads of their communities, and in the leadership role as God appointed during and after Eden.
Therefore I call ALL MEN, & MEN’S MINISTRY LEADERS, to inquire about the funding and budget regarding the Conference Men’s Ministry department. I ask that you write letters, send e-mails, make phone calls, if in the neighborhood make an appointment and stop by the conference office to inquire about our Ministry.
